No two schools are the same. That is why every ESP School Review begins with a detailed conversation about your priorities.

Together with your Principal and senior leadership team, we agree the focus, scope and intended outcomes of the review. Whether you want to evaluate teaching and learning, strengthen leadership, test the impact of improvement strategies or prepare for inspection, the process is shaped around the questions that matter most to your school.

Throughout the review, your ESP Challenge Partner combines professional rigour with sensitivity, discretion and a clear understanding of the international school context.

ESP reviews reflect the evidence trails used by Ofsted and British Schools Overseas inspectorates, providing a rigorous and reliable assessment of quality.

Depending on the agreed focus, the review may include:

  • Learning walks and lesson observations

  • Scrutiny of pupils’ work

  • Analysis of achievement, progress and other school data

  • Discussions with leaders, teachers and support staff

  • Meetings with pupils, parents, governors or other stakeholders

  • Evaluation of policies, systems and improvement plans

  • Review of leadership capacity and the impact of current priorities

How the review works

Agree the priorities

We meet with your Principal and leadership team to understand the school, clarify your objectives and agree the scope of the review.

Design the review

ESP creates a bespoke review plan, selecting the activities and evidence trails most relevant to your priorities.

Explore current practice

Your Challenge Partner works within the school to listen, observe, analyse evidence and engage with relevant stakeholders.

Reflect and challenge

Leaders receive clear professional feedback, with opportunities to discuss findings, test conclusions and explore possible responses.

Turn findings into action

Within seven working days, your school receives a quality-assured written report setting out key findings, validated strengths and focused recommendations for further improvement.
